Create Widget at SwissTrustWidget

Go to swisstrustwidget.ch and click "Create Widget". Connect your Google location, choose a template (badge, carousel, review cards). For e-commerce stores, badges and compact widgets work best — they take up little space and build trust instantly. Customise the design to match your Shopify theme.

Copy Embed Code

Once your widget is designed, click "Copy Code". SwissTrustWidget generates a short script tag — this is the code you insert into your Shopify store. Copy the entire code to your clipboard.

Insert in Shopify

In Theme Customizer: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add section → "Custom Liquid" → paste code, position, save. Alternatively on individual pages via the page editor (HTML mode) or in theme code (theme.liquid) for site-wide display.

Where to place the widget?

Home page (below the hero): A badge or trust pill right after the headline. Visitors see in the first 3 seconds that your store is rated. Product pages: Review cards or a compact badge next to the "Add to cart" button. Right where the purchase decision happens. Cart / Checkout page: A subtle badge above the "Buy now" button reduces cart abandonment. Footer (site-wide): A compact badge in the footer appears on every page. Subtle, but always present. About us page: An extensive widget with multiple reviews.

Troubleshooting: Widget not showing?

Shopify Customizer sometimes doesn't show external scripts in preview — open your store in a new browser tab. Theme cache: Open page in incognito mode or use a different browser. Custom Liquid not available? All themes version 2.0 and newer support Custom Liquid. For older themes, use the page editor or theme code. Content Security Policy (CSP): On Shopify Plus, add cdn.swisstrustwidget.ch as an allowed script source. App conflicts: Page Speed Optimizer or Script Manager can block external scripts — create an exception for cdn.swisstrustwidget.ch.
